Hello my beautiful friends!
WOW! It’s been quite a while since I’ve spent time with you here and so much has happened.
In the beginning of August, I went on an amazing vacation to Mexico where I visited many beautiful places. I was there for only nine days, but one word to describe how I felt would be, humbled.
The scenery wherever I visited was breath taking and all I could think of was “wow, God created all of this with His hands.” Everything was beautiful, yes, including the poor neighborhoods we drove by. It’s actually in those neighborhoods where I noticed myself drawn to the most. Even though some people lived in homes with peaces of laminate as roofs or a front door made out of broken peaces of wood that most likely didn’t have locks on them, these people were making a living by either selling their own crops, candy, homemade food or practically anything honestly. And you know what? Most people seemed very happy and welcoming regardless of where and how they were living.
Me! Up on a hill 🙂 This town could only be reached by boat. People that live on this hill also had either restaurants or little gift shops which I loved!
I even remember stopping at a local mini market on the side of the road (which are very popular out in the mountains) where my sister and our friend stopped to purchase snacks to help us get through our long road trip and to use their washroom and by “washroom” I mean it really was just a toilet without a seat, walls and a door made with bed sheets, thankfully there was not enough wind to blow them away, and let me not forget to mention there was a rooster hanging around inside that “room” as well. But do you see what I mean? This small family owned business did what it takes to serve their customers in any way they could. I wish I had taken pictures of this scene, but I didn’t so it’ll be an excuse to visit soon again 😉
I mention all of this because every time I visit Mexico I somehow come back appreciating all that I have. Except, this time I don’t just mean my job or a comfortable home, but I mean my relationship with God and how He’s reshaped my mind in various ways and how He’s become my source of fulfillment.
I tend to get so caught up in worrying about my finances and if I will fail as a small business owner. But God has continuously showed me He’s got this and that He is faithful.
I desire a husband yet I get “cold feet” when someone’s interested in me and I start to fear the what if I get hurt again. Yet God has got this too and knows exactly what I need and when.
I can be judgmental and tend to choose who I do life with and who I won’t when the truth is that the more time I spend in God’s word the more I see how Jesus Christ surrounded Himself with broken and sinful people, just like you and I.
We’re all broken and in need for love.
“He took our illnesses and bore our diseases.” ~Matthew 8:17
“Those who are well have no need for a physician, but those who are sick. Go and learn what this means, `I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.” ~Matthew 9:12-13
As broken people in a fallen world we desire peace, healing and love. No one or anything can satisfy us more than God Himself. So in times of anxiety, confusion and all sorts of troubles, lean onto God whom is always willing to help. All He asks of us is to ask, seek and have faith.
“Faith is not found in what we’re believing for. Faith is found in whom we are believing in.” -Michale Todd
Trust God, and Do Good 🙂
